Dear MLG kids,
Somewhere along the line, someone wanted to take videogames to a competition level of play... naturally, that's fine. I can accept that fact. It's cool that MLG has taken Halo and tweaked it to their idea of competitive play. I don't have a problem with the MLG circuit... not at all, I think it's a cool idea and probably keeps kids off the streets and from contracting some STD because they're to busy practicing.
Regardless... my problem does not exist with the rules MLG plays by or which maps they think are best. I'd like to give a big shout out to every little asshole out there that decides it's best to scream into their microphones, scream at you when they lose and proudly displays MLG in their tags. Really, I don't think you're the world's worst player if my team beat your's, why can't you say good game? Why do you have to be an obnixious little monkey? Is it that necessary, does your brain fry every time you lose? Should you be standing that close to the microwave when you're nuking your hot pockets before the match? Could that have something to do with the situation?
Oh that's right, your head is to far up your ass, you want to 1v1 or it wasn't "fair". Sad fact is, we're all subject to this but we play in Bungie's world and we're bound to their iron will. I just don't get where these people come off thinking they are god's gift to the videogaming world... maybe MLG wouldn't be the laughing stock of the internet if they actually had some kind of system to govern their players or some code of conduct to follow... because really... fans of their playstyle completely ruin it for me... I'd support if, if I wasn't cursed to high holy heaven after a game where my team beat's an MLG team. Whoopdie doo!
If you're that pro, I guess you have to scream into your microphone, scream at us for not vetoing (if you suck at the map... then we're going to exploit that weakness... I really don't care what you want to play, I'm here to win), insult my mom, dad, sister, dog, uncles, aunts, the way I talk or what armor I wear. Guess what, go pop some pimples because you aren't pro, you aren't |337 and post people want to shove three weak old dirty gym shorts down your little pie hole because you never learned to shut your mouth.
I try to tolerate MLG as much as I can... but someone high up in the ranks of MLG really needs to address the growing concern over people who claim to be MLG and who piss all over their name by using racial slurs, slander, insults and generally have no traits of a professional.
Take for example... the Halo 3 forum. MLG is twisted out of context as soon as some slick talking idiot thinking he's got the best idea to "improve" Halo 3 by adding an MLG style hopper to the mix... honestly, we've already been through this in Halo 2 and you're going to be flamed because you threw MLG into the name. People don't trust it because of the people they meet online and the jerks that think they are absolutely right... know what? They're a minority of players, they're not always right and they aren't certified designers or engineers so they really don't know what's best or "most wanted". And in reality... it's cool to share your ideas and opinions, but in all honestly, you are one person that had a bad experience and have yet to put any logic behind your reasoning... next time, think before you post.
So really... what seems to be the problem these days? Why are these kids getting worse and worse? And can I have a custom interface in Halo 3 that says "mute asshole"?

I was going to write a long response about what I thought about MLG, but then I realized I didn't need to. I just needed to say that I completely agree with you.
I think a lot of little kids put "MLG" in their gamertags just to pretend they're so pro.
The fact of the matter is, it's s video game made for the purpose of entertainment. All thos e little kids who take ot too seriously need to grow up and realize this. Does it hurt them that much to just say good game? Or to accept the fact that someone is better than they are? I mean naturally sometimes you let your emotions get the best of you but please just consider others before you speak.

This really hits home. I wish there was a matchmaking technology that measured maturity level. Sigh. And it takes soooooo long to submit feedback about a player!
